October Art Challenge 2023 list is here! The 10th month of the year brings a certain enchantment with its falling leaves, brisk winds, and the anticipation of Halloween. πππ
It’s also the perfect time for artists of all backgrounds to engage with the art community, develop a positive drawing habit, and immerse themselves in the world of art challenges. π¨
In this post, I’ll give you an extensive list of 15 Instagram October art challenges. *These challenges go from the biggest to those a little bit less popular (but still worth noticing!)
1. Inktober

Description: Inktober is an annual art challenge created by artist Jake Parker that encourages artists to create one ink drawing a day for the entire month of October. The goal is to improve your inking skills, explore new ideas, and connect with a global community of artists.
2. Drawlloween
Hosted by: Mab Graves
Description: Drawlloween is a whimsical challenge that combines Halloween themes with art. Artists are tasked with creating spooky, imaginative artwork every day of October, following a unique daily prompt.
3. Drawtober
Hosted by: Timothy Von Rueden
Description: βThis yearβs 7th annual Drawtober event will challenge artists to create with the theme of exploring different rooms and what creatures or mysteries lurk within them!β

4. Goretober

Description: Goretober is not for the faint of heart. This challenge invites artists to delve into the horror genre, crafting gruesome and eerie artwork throughout the month. It’s a thrilling experience for those who love the macabre.

5. Witchy Art Challenge

Description: This challenge celebrates the mysticism and magic of October. Artists are encouraged to explore witchy themes and create spellbinding artwork inspired by folklore, witchcraft, and the occult.

6. Lindentober

Description: If you’re passionate about nature and all the things mystics, get ready for Lindentober. Lindentober is an art challenge divided into 4 weeks. For each week, there are three prompts that make me think of forrests, night, and magic, such as βhornsβ, βrunesβ, βBlue Moonβ, or βNocturnal Bloom.β
7. Stingotober

8. Stilltober
